Jason's project

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pf1E4XAHj-A

the above is a link to some footage. enjoy!

We are trapped in repetitions and systems. Manipulated, shamed and worked to death by confusing lords from generation to the next. Can we escape or break the cycle? Not Solomon.

I love the costumes and makeup, like we've all already said in class. My favorite shot of this bunch is the shot where they wrap him in the cloth (and it starts almost covering the camera and then they pull it around him) I think you're in pretty good shape, but I'll just reinforce the statement that you really need more coverage, even if you can't get your actors, and even if the weather has changed the landscape a bit. I'm confident that you'll end up with a really solid project.

Your whole approach with the costumes, makeup with the over all location give a very primal feeling that i think is very awesome. It doesn't look or feel artificial, and if you keep up with that and stay faithful to this vision you will have a very powerful piece.

I agree with the above comments. My concern is how you are going to make the audience know that this happens over and over again and that Solomon can't break the cycle if you are only going to show it once. I sort of feel the movie would benefit from seeing some of the monotony that you have described as a main theme.

I think one way to do this is, as Ken said, to get more coverage of everything. This would allow you to drag out and explore each moment of Solomon's life. Another way is to show the process happening multiple times. This does not need to be in sequence for the audience to understand that it happens continually.

I really like the way this is shot. The camera movement mirrors the sort of chaos Solomon seems to be feeling. The baptism is really great. The camera angle is right down on his level, and it really comes across as a forced action, and Solomon has no choice.
