Jonah's Project POISONVILLE

Poisonville is a narrative short. A portrait of an ambiguous urban landscape and the people in it. Poisonville will be driven by a narrative thread that focuses on 3 friends Jeff, Oogie, and Goose. The narrative thread will be separated by short vignettes exploring the landscape and other people who inhabit Poisonville. Visual ispirations for the locations are zones of exclusion and graffiti.

here is a link to a blog i made for my film. My hope is that this place will help document the making of my new film 'POISONVILLE' ... A mix of production photos, clips, future locations, script pieces, and other things.

I really enjoy your idea of creating a production site. I'm attempting to do so right now - using pantherfile as my host since I can reduce it to just our class view the works until it's closer to being done and due to the nature of the subject.

I don't remember if I mentioned it at class, but you done a really good job recreating the feel of some of the photos you shown in class. In seeing the color photos of the area you are shooting, can't believe how different it looks to the footage we have seen and that's very goood.

I am in love with the way your project looks. I really like the pace of the shots you've shown in class and I hope in editing you keep things slow. I think it will add a lot to observing these sort of nobodies.

Overall, I think you have a clear sense of your characters. My fear is that they will not come across as three dimensional. Do you want us to attach ourselves to them or are we just supposed to observe? These are some things you might want to think about.

Some of the black and white stills are great. Do you plan to use stills in the final edit?

wow, that restaurant is fantastic! Your locations are amazing so far, and I think that they really help us understand the characters. This world you are creating is timeless, we don't immediately attach it to the present or specific decade. it works. I'm excited to see the final!

Like I mentioned in class, the photos on your blog are amazing, but I haven't seen your footage yet. I must have been absent that day. With that said, I know that both will match each other, and I think the set, style, and feel is NOT reminiscent of MKE. I was told by a former instructor that no matter how you shoot MKE it will always look like MKE. I now disagree...good job!
